After a tough outing at Singapore, Max Verstappen returned to form at Suzuka by blitzing the field over half a second in qualifying for the Japanese Grand Prix.
The two McLarens start behind him with Sergio Perez starting from fifth place as Red Bull looks to secure the Constructors' Championship.
Mercedes and Aston Martin were off the pace as Ferrari just kept in touch with the top four, with tyre degradation set to play a key role in the destiny of the race.
