Six-figure sum raised for unique Red Bull F1 item

A unique Red Bull F1 simulator recently went up for auction - and the winning bid was a six-figure sum, which will be donated to charity.

A Red Bull F1 simulator signed by four-time champion Max Verstappen has raised over £100,000 (€118,000) for charity following a recent auction.

At the end of last year, F1 Autentics and Red Bull collaborated to put the unique simulator up for sale, with all proceeds going to Wings For Life.

The simulator mimics that of the RB19, which statistically sits as the most dominant car in F1 history having won 21 out of the 22 grands prix held during the 2023 campaign.

It is also signed by Verstappen, with the winning bid sitting at £103,000. The money will go towards the charity closely associated with Red Bull, which aims to find a cure for spinal cord injury.

“We are incredibly grateful to F1 Authentics and Oracle Red Bull Racing for their generous support,” said Wings for Life CEO Emma Hind.

“Raising £103,000 is a significant achievement and will make a huge contribution in spinal cord injury research.

“It has been a pleasure to work with them on this campaign, and we can’t wait to see what the future has in store for this valuable fundraising partnership!”

The winner of the simulator has also been gifted a tour of the Red Bull Racing campus in Milton Keynes.

Barry Gough, Founder and CEO of Memento Exclusives (F1 Authentics) added: “We’ve partnered with Red Bull Racing for several years and have had the pleasure of working with Wings for Life on numerous occasions.

“We are thrilled to have raised a significant sum for the charity; this is a phenomenal achievement and will help enormously in the amazing work they do.

“On top of this, the auction winner will be receiving a next-level piece of racing equipment, signed by Max himself."
