Mercedes has won the F1 constructors' title for the ninth time after a wild Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
Heading into the race, the team had 630 points compared to Ferrari on 504, a gap of 126, with 172 points left on the board, and the team knew it required a 129-point buffer after the race to be assured of its title.
It meant Kimi Antonelli from second and George Russell from seventh on the grid, were required to out-score Ferrari by just three points to be assured of the title.
Russell finished fourth and Antonelli fifth for a haul of 22 points, with Charles Leclerc in seventh and Lewis Hamilton in ninth for Ferrari, for eight points. It means Mercedes' lead is 140 points, with 129 left in the final three races.
It is Mercedes' first constructors' title since 2021, when its record-breaking run of eight consecutive titles ended in the first year of the ground-effect rules, when the team badly got its car design wrong - with the next four titles since Mercedes' last split between Red Bull and McLaren.
Mercedes has now moved level with Williams in third for the most F1 constructors' titles.
