Russell drops Mercedes hint?

Valtteri Bottas or George Russell? One of the two will drive alongside Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes in 2022. The young Briton only added to the speculation thanks to his latest Instagram post.

George Russell did little to quell the rumours linking him with a move to Mercedes by posting a picture of him washing his personal Mercedes car. Talk surrounding who will partner Lewis Hamilton next season continues to rage on following the Briton signing a new contract that will see him remain with the Silver Arrows until the end of the 2023 campaign. Toto Wolff revealed that a decision on the second Mercedes driver will be made this summer with Valtteri Bottas and Russell in the running. The latter did little to quell suggestions he will be in the seat after posting a picture of him washing his white Mercedes car. "Take care of the things you love," Russell posted on his Instagram page, tagging the Mercedes-AMG account. Fans speculated in the comment section as to whether this post was a sign of what is to come, though time will tell. In the meantime Russell and the rest of the F1 grid will prepare for the first Sprint Qualifying event that will be held next weekend at the British GP.
