Max Verstappen will be on pole position for the Austrian Grand Prix following his victory in Saturday's Sprint.

The Dutchman had started in P1 for the event, but faced a challenge from the Ferrari duo of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz on the opening lap. However, Verstappen held onto his lead, and from there put in a dominant drive to take the win.

After an early battle with teammate Sainz, it was Leclerc who took second, meaning that he will line up P2 for Sunday's Grand Prix, with Sainz in third.

George Russell starts from fourth, while Sergio Perez sits fifth after making progress through the field in the Sprint.

Despite finishing the Sprint in 10th, Valtteri Bottas had been set to line up at the back of the grid for Sunday's race due to taking an engine penalty.

However, he has since been ordered to start from the pit lane after further changes were made to his car.

Fernando Alonso also takes an engine penalty, though had already been due to start from the back, having been unable to participate in the Sprint following a mechanical issue.

The starting grid below is provisional until confirmed by F1's governing body, the FIA.
