Sébastien Buemi has warned that this weekend's British Grand Prix risks not looking "amazing on TV" due to the immense demands of energy management at Silverstone.
The British Grand Prix is set to present the biggest energy management challenge since the opening round in Melbourne, where several drivers ran out of battery charge on the straights.
Silverstone's major problem under the new power unit regulations is its lack of heavy braking zones, with the section from Turn 7 to Turn 16 featuring mainly high-speed corners.
Buemi, who was in Red Bull's simulator as recently as last weekend for the Austrian Grand Prix, suspects that recovering battery charge is going to be a real issue.
The Swiss driver compares it to Melbourne and what was expected in Jeddah, with the latter not having taken place due to the current conflict in the Middle East.
With the energy management situation at Silverstone expected to be critical, Buemi believes it will simply be a case of doing a better job than Red Bull's rivals and extracting the most from what is likely to be a challenging situation.
Asked if Silverstone will be a real energy management challenge, Buemi told RacingNews365 during an interview: "Yeah, I mean, Silverstone is one of those tracks where recovery will be an issue because you don't really have much slowing down, not much braking in terms of recovery.
"It's closer to Melbourne, or maybe Jeddah. Okay, in Jeddah we didn't have it, so we didn't see. So, I'm not sure it's going to look amazing on TV, to be honest.
"But again, it's the same for everyone, so it's going to be important to try to get the most out of it and just be a bit better than the others."
