Lando Norris stormed to sprint pole position at the Chinese Grand Prix on Friday afternoon at the Shanghai International Circuit. The McLaren driver was a staggering 1.3 secs clear of Lewis Hamilton in second, whilst reigning world champion Max Verstappen could only salvage fourth on the grid. Norris is yet to claim a Grand Prix win and he is also yet to win a sprint race, unlike team-mate Oscar Piastri who was victorious in last season's Qatar sprint. With the drivers having gathered minimal data as a result of the sprint format, Saturday's first sprint race of 2024 is an unpredictable one.
