Pierre Gasly has hilariously joked that he could very easily go "bankrupt" at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, describing it as motorsport heaven.
The Frenchman is at this year's event driving various Alpine machines up the iconic Goodwood hill, the first of which on Thursday was Alpine's new A110 Future.
Goodwood sees manufacturers from across the world bring cars and bikes from the past, the present and the future.
For many, it is the biggest annual motorsport event, with Gasly ranking Goodwood at the very top when it comes to viewing cars.
"I mean, it's such a cool event," Gasly told the official Goodwood broadcast. "I'm so happy to be here. I came here a few years ago and, yeah, to me, it's the most beautiful car event in the world.
"And yeah, it's great to be here with Alpine. I'm going to be testing the A110 Future for the very first time. It's an EV sports car, so I'm looking forward to seeing what it feels like. And then, yeah, I'm just like a kid looking at every single car out there. It's incredible."
For Gasly, a well-known car enthusiast, the trickiest part about attending Goodwood is resisting the temptation to buy the cars he spots.
Asked if he has to watch his wallet at Goodwood, Gasly joked: "Yes, I mean, I'm doing fine, but I think I could be bankrupt pretty quickly here."
Gasly's eye was then caught by a Lancia: "That one. That one, yes. I mean, I've just seen this one, and I was like, 'I want to get that car now.' So, yeah, it's beautiful. It's such a cool event and, as a car guy, yeah, I love it."
