Pierre Gasly believes his Alpine team must focus on "business as usual" despite a chaotic week in which it lost its team principal and made a driver change.

The bombshell news that boss Oliver Oakes had resigned was announced on the Tuesday following Miami as the team was widely expected to drop Jack Doohan for Franco Colapinto.

This was announced on Wednesday morning, with Oakes' resignation seemingly linked, but the story took a further twist after police revealed his brother had been arrested on the Thursday of Miami for "transferring criminal property", and has since been charged.

Oakes was the latest senior figure to depart Alpine, with the team having three team bosses in as many years after Otmar Szafnauer and Bruno Famin, whom Oakes replaced in 2024.

Reacting to the news, Gasly felt "the headlines are not showing" the work and effort being put in by the team.

"The headlines are not really showing any of the good work I am seeing at the factory and within the race team," Gasly told media including RacingNews365.

"For me, it is important to keep the guys focusing on the actual work we are doing behind closed doors, because that is really good, but obviously, the noise outside is always going to be there because changes like this is always going to be talked about.

"But from what I am seeing at the factory, the people working together, the new people coming in, there is a lot of potential.

"Flavio has brought a lot with him, the directions are very clear and we will see some rewards and dividends over the next few weeks and months, and I am very hopeful for next season, but it is just as important if we move on from this special week and focus on business as usual.

"I was at the factory on Tuesday and Wednesday, with Flavio when the announcements were made, and it is big news, but what we've got to do doesn't change.

"There is no trouble at the team, no disagreement between anyone in the team, and the vision and directions remain the same as they were before Miami and after Miami.

"So obviously, Ollie is not here, there has been a change with the drives, but in terms of directions and pure work, nothing has changed."
