Oscar Piastri has explained how his "low voltage" relationship with race engineer Tom Stallard is helping to fuel his charge for the F1 title.
Piastri leads the drivers' standings by 22 points from team-mate Lando Norris following their Canadian GP collision, with Norris retiring as Piastri finished fourth.
The Australian has earned himself a reputation for being calm behind the wheel as opposed to Norris's more critical self-approach, with Piastri explaining the importance of senior race engineer Stallard, an Olympic silver medalist in rowing at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.
"Tom and I get on very well and we are in our third year together, so I think a lot of the unspoken things flow a bit more naturally," Piastri told media, including RacingNews365.
"We are in a good place, we've done a good job, not just me and Tom, but the other engineers around me have taken a step up this year and are finding out how we can find more performance from every angle.
"That is also to do with how we communicate on track, and from my side, it is always pretty low voltage, but from Tom's side, it is pretty relaxed as well.
"We both communicate pretty well, and when we need to get our elbows out or be firm with each other or with other people, then we can, and that is a good relationship to have."
