Oscar Piastri has not been punished by the stewards at the Italian Grand Prix after he was investigated for entering the fast lane in the pits too soon during FP2. McLaren was reprimanded for the incident.
Following Kimi Antonelli's red flag stoppage, the Australian entered the fast lane in the pits before the restart of the session had been confirmed, something that is directly at odds with the race director's event notes.
The official decision document read: "The team admitted during the hearing that they made a mistake as they reacted to the 'track clear' message instead of reacting to the message indicating the re-start time of the session.
"The Stewards acknowledge that, in contrast to prior incidents of similar nature happening in Qualifying, no significant sporting advantage could potentially be gained as this happened in free practice and therefore consider a reprimand to the competitor to be appropriate."
Antonelli and team-mate George Russell were found guilty of the same indiscretion during qualifying for the Bahrain Grand Prix, both earning one-place grid penalties.
Gabriel Bortoleto avoided being penalised for his yellow flag infringement after the stewards deemed the 20-year-old did not have sufficient time to react prior to overtaking Liam Lawson's Racing Bulls machine.
The officials added that the Stake driver's view of the yellow flag was also obstructed by the New Zealander, concluding: "The Stewards decide that, although technically a breach of the regulations occurred, no penalty needs to be applied."
