New Formula E world champion Oliver Rowland detailed the relief to have secured the title in Berlin, with him noting that he "might sound really stupid" in how he now feels.
The Briton clinched a deserving title in the second race of the Berlin E-Prix after crossing the finish line in fourth at the Tempelhof Airport circuit.
Rowland sealed the crown with two races remaining, taking place this weekend in London at the ExCeL Centre.
Whilst the drivers' championship is secured, the teams' and manufacturers' titles remain up for grabs, with Nissan in contention for a triple crown.
At one point in Berlin, it appeared that reigning world champion Pascal Wehrlein had battled his way into a surprise title fight, increasing the weight on Rowland's shoulders.
Rowland conceded after winning the title that he could feel his body becoming heavier, due to the pressure from Wehrlein and the pressure he applied upon himself, before feeling like the weight vanished after becoming world champion.
It is a feeling which Rowland worked tirelessly for, but one he is conscious to be "aware of" due to the sudden release of unimaginable levels of emotion.
"The honest feeling is, I might sound really stupid, my shoulders feel lighter, my whole body feels lighter," Rowland explained to RacingNews365.
"My head feels lighter, I also don't know if it was like a bit of a release of emotion, that's not something that I or guys do very often, you know. And I said earlier about how I was feeling at some points, like emotional before the race.
"I'm not sure if some of that is like a release of emotion and energy from my body, but you also have to recover from that, right? Because it took a lot of energy. So I'm kind of trying to be aware of that, but, yeah, it just feels great.
"And even now, when I watch the videos back and I'm just smiling and sometimes struggling to believe that it's actually done. So I'm really, really happy, really, really proud, and, yeah, just super cool."
