Lando Norris proclaimed his pole-securing lap for the United States Grand Prix as "confidently the best of my career" - but only after being forced to take a risk.

Norris delivered a sublime lap around the Circuit of the Americas in Austin to beat F1 title rival Max Verstappen by 0.031s, albeit he was aided by a crash late on involving Mercedes' George Russell that brought out the double-waved yellows when the second runs were under way.

Verstappen rues lost freebie after Austin qualifying 'mess up'

Max Verstappen accepted that a crucial error cost him pole position for the United States Grand Prix, whilst he was unable to benefit from "free" lap time. 

The reigning world champion was the driver to beat going into qualifying after winning the F1 sprint.

Hamilton offers US GP proposal to Mercedes after 'nightmare' qualifying

Lewis Hamilton has hinted a pit lane start will be likely for the United States Grand Prix following his difficult qualifying outing.

The seven-time world champion endured a nightmare session and ended the opening Q1 segment in 19th place.

Alonso aims fresh dig at Lawson after 'idiot' jibe

Fernando Alonso has criticised Liam Lawson following the F1 sprint race from the Circuit of the Americas.

Alonso labelled the RB driver as an “idiot” over team radio as they battled for position during the shorter race in Austin, Texas.

Verstappen ends press conference boycott with 'nice guy' remark

Max Verstappen has ended his FIA press conference boycott after returning to winning ways in the United States Grand Prix sprint.

The three-time F1 champion ended a four-month-long wait to take the chequered flag, doing so with ease at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin where he led from start to finish for the second consecutive year at the Texan venue.

Piastri predicts further Red Bull 'questions' over 'illegal' system

Oscar Piastri feels Red Bull will "clearly have questions" to answer should it suffer a drop in performance after its parc ferme trick was revealed.

Red Bull admitted ahead of the United States Grand Prix at Austin that it was the team at centre of allegations one outfit had a device fitted to its car that could enable the bib or T-Tray under the car to be adjusted whilst in parc ferme conditions to provide optimal settings for qualifying and then the race.
