Nico Rosberg has called for Max Verstappen to be disqualified from the Spanish Grand Prix, following his collision with George Russell.
Verstappen went into the side of Russell on lap 64 at Turn 5 after being told by Red Bull to let the Mercedes driver go past for fourth place.
It all stemmed from an incident at the first corner following a safety car restart on lap 61, where contact was made by Russell and Verstappen whilst the Briton tried to overtake the Dutchman.
Following the first corner clash, Verstappen took to the inner escape road and rejoined ahead of Russell in fourth, before Red Bull informed him to return the spot three laps later.
The four-time world champion was furious with the Milton Keynes-based outfit's radio message, before slowing on the entry to Turn 5.
It allowed Russell to move alongside at the entry to the corner; however, Verstappen suddenly went straight and into the side of the Mercedes driver.
Rosberg was on commentary duties for Sky F1 and immediately called for the Red Bull driver to receive a black flag, which would have seen him disqualified.
When asked on Sky F1 after the race if he still believed Verstappen should have received a black flag, Rosberg confirmed his belief; however, blamed Russell for the Turn 1 clash: "It was George's fault, as he only complied with two out of the three things that you need to comply with when you overtake, so Max could have stayed in front and didn't have to give up that place.
"So then Red Bull told him to give up the place, that caused his blood to boil over even more. And then it looked like a very intentional retaliation, wait for the opponent and go ramming into him just like you felt the other guy rammed into you in Turn 1, and that is something that's extremely unacceptable.
"And I think the rules then would be black flag, yeah. So that's why I said, 'Okay, if you wait for your opponent just to bang into him and crash into him, then that's a black flag'."
