Nico Hulkenberg will not drive on track at all on Friday at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix after technical gremlins on his Audi car.
Hulkenberg had stood down for FP1 at Interlagos in favour of Freddie Slater, but for the second straight weekend, the young Briton suffered a stoppage on track early in FP1.
The car was recovered back to the garage, where the team worked to diagnose the issues, but whilst the issue was identified, it was not able to be fixed in time.
Audi communicated that the German was formally out of the second practice session 17 minutes into the running.
Hulkenberg's car was seen to be up on the jacks with mechanics working underneath the machine around the time he was formally ruled out of the session.
