Mitch Evans secured victory in the second race of Formula E's Berlin E-Prix, marking a record 16th win in the championship.
The New Zealander mastered the Tempelhof Airport Circuit peloton which took place in scorching conditions, opting to sit near the back and preserve his energy before charging in the closing laps.
As a result of a strong win, Evans has moved to second in the drivers' standings and is just three points adrift of Pascal Wehrlein.
As expected, the opening half of the race was conducted at an incredibly slow pace, with overtakes galore at most corners.
It created several sandwiches, one of which on lap four at Turn 6 saw Nyck de Vries hit by team-mate Edoardo Mortara, and tag Nick Cassidy.
De Vries was forced to retire with suspension damage, while a further incident at Turn 6 four laps later forced Cassidy to pit for a new front wing.
At the front, Rowland started to stretch the field on lap 17, before Evans stormed to the front from the back of the grid on lap 27.
For Rowland, there was a bizarre and controversial moment in the closing laps after it seemed he overtook Wehrlein for second through a yellow flag section.
However, it was deemed it was actually a slippery surface flag, making the overtake legal. As a result, Rowland finished in second ahead of Wehrlein in third.
