Max Verstappen has revealed that he talks to his former team boss Christian Horner “almost every week”.
Horner held the team principal role at Red Bull for over 20 years before departing suddenly after the 2025 British Grand Prix.
The Briton oversaw a great period of success with Sebastian Vettel in the early 2010s before enjoying a similar dominant period with Max Verstappen in the following decade.
Horner was replaced at Red Bull by Laurent Mekies and has since been linked to various roles with on the grid.
The 52-year-old made his first F1 paddock appearance since leaving Red Bull on Sunday at Silverstone, and Verstappen was quizzed about his return.
“I speak to Christian almost every week,” Verstappen told media including RacingNews365.
“I saw him on the camera walking around, but I haven't had time to meet anyone, to be honest. It’s just been busy.”
When asked what he talks to Horner about, Verstappen replied: “Like you do with your friends, or people that you've known for a long time.”
Verstappen's own future continued to be a topic of conversation after his latest challenging outing at the British Grand Prix - but the four-time champion remained tight-lipped.
“I'm not going to say anything about that. It's not fair to say anything about that, right now.”
