Max Verstappen issues reaction as Red Bull finally fulfil F1 demand

Max Verstappen has given his approval to Red Bull's striking new F1 livery, as long wanted the colours to be changed.

The Dutchman was on hand with new team-mate Isack Hadjar to reveal the RB22 at Ford's motorsport season launch in Detroit, where an eye-catching new design was unveiled. 

Red Bull describes the new design as inspired by the original look the team carried in F1 in its early years, and "harks back to a more classic Red Bull Racing presence."

The design features a "heritage" white base, with cleaner edges and stronger colour saturation, creating a shine, which works in tandem with a new jacquard pattern throughout. 

Red Bull has decided to opt for the new livery to "acknowledge the bold move" of creating an F1 power unit for the first time, assisted by Ford's technical might and know-how.

Verstappen has long called for Red Bull's traditional livery to be updated, and finally has received his wish, as he delivered his verdict.  

"First of all, everyone is very excited, and I am as well," Verstappen began during the launch event, before going on to describe how the colours of the team kit had "changed a little bit."

The RB22 livery was then revealed, with Verstappen giving his reaction to the change. 

"I think it is much better," he said.

"I've been asking for this for a while, so this is great. I like the shine, I like the blue, which is my favourite colour. 

"I like the outlines on the Red Bull logo as well, it is back, it is much fresher, so I like it."
