Max Verstappen has asserted himself as the leader of RacingNews365's season driver ratings table, as Lewis Hamilton has suffered a drop after round 18 of 24.

After every grand prix, one of the team will score each of the 20 drivers from a score of 1-10 for their performances throughout the weekend, taking into account practice, qualifying, and the race.

Over the course of the season, these scores are kept track of, and with 24 grands prix in the season, it allows for reviews after six, 12, and 18 races, with the recent Singapore GP at Marina being round 18, so the three-quarter mark of the season.

From the six races in Belgium, Hungary, the Netherlands, Italy, Azerbaijan and Singapore, the biggest climber was actually reigning F2 champion Gabriel Bortoleto and Red Bull's Yuki Tsunoda, both up 0.6 from the last review, helped by high-scoring rounds in Hungary and Italy, and Azerbaijan, respectively.

On the flip side, Pierre Gasly, Nico Hulkenberg and Hamilton all endured drops of at least 0.4, with Hamilton enduring a terrible run of not scoring higher than 4.5 through the Belgian-Hungary-Dutch races.

Meanwhile, at the top, Verstappen has climbed into the lead of the season rankings, boasting a score of 8.1, aided by back-to-back 10s in the Italian and Azerbaijan GPs.

Since Silverstone, his ranking has grown by 0.3, with Oscar Piastri falling from top spot into second with a loss of 0.3, not helped by his terrible weekend in Azerbaijan, from which he scored a three - his worst rating of the season.

NOTE: The season average below reflects the new scores each driver has after round 18, with the changes being in total. For example, Max Verstappen's change of +0.3 to 8.1 means his score from the first 12 races was 7.8 and so on.
