A new season of F1 is here!
The 2026 season opener at Albert Park arrives with the sport in uncharted territory as we see the debut of arguably the biggest regulation change in F1 history.
In comes the active aerodynamics system and a major boost in electrical power, which is now split evenly with the internal combustion engine.
The cars are 30kg lighter and narrower, fundamentally altering how drivers attack circuits. Energy management demands have intensified, forcing more aggressive lift-and-coast strategies.
For McLaren's Oscar Piastri, the home race carries added significance, while Cadillac will get its F1 journey underway as the sport's 11th team.
But before points are handed out on Sunday, the teams have a chance to collect data and tune their cars ahead of the all-important grand prix - starting with FP1!
