Lando Norris starts the Mexico City Grand Prix from pole position after crushing the competition in qualifying at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.
The McLaren driver secured pole by nearly three-tenths of a second, with Ferrari's Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton claiming second and third on the grid.
Norris has a huge opportunity in Mexico City to snatch the lead of the F1 drivers' title from Oscar Piastri, who starts down in seventh after a poor Saturday performance.
If Norris wins, Piastri must finish inside the top four to remain as the championship leader going into São Paulo.
As for Max Verstappen, the Dutchman's late title charge is in jeopardy after qualifying in fifth, leaving him with work to do in order to continue his fine form.
Despite Norris cruising to pole, the polesitter has very rarely won the Mexican GP, due to the staggering length of the run into the first corner. Will we see yet another first corner collision?
