Severe weather is looming over the São Paulo Grand Prix weekend, with extreme conditions threatening to disrupt proceedings for the sprint and main qualifying session at Interlagos.
However, they have yet to hit, and whilst the circuit is wet, there has not been further rain after the showers overnight.
The sprint is scheduled for 11:00 local time in Brazil, where Lando Norris will start from pole as he looks to strengthen his resolve in the F1 drivers' championship.
McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri is two places back on the grid, in third. The Australian is flanked by the Mercedes pair of Kimi Antonelli and George Russell.
Max Verstappen, the third title protagonist and outside bet at 36 points adrift, had a difficult sprint qualifying session and will start sixth. What can the Red Bull driver do by way of recovery or damage limitation?
Aston Martin enjoyed a strong afternoon. Fernando Alonso will launch from fifth, with team-mate Lance Stroll just behind in seventh.
Ferrari endured a torrid opening day to the weekend. Charles Leclerc starts eighth in the final points-paying position, whilst Lewis Hamilton will line up in P11.
