Liam Lawson insists he simply must "perform" if he is to rescue his F1 career as Red Bull's major decision looms.
Lawson is not a candidate for promotion back to the senior Red Bull team for 2026, meaning his only chance to stay on the F1 grid is to retain his Racing Bulls seat.
Max Verstappen is guaranteed to be at Red Bull in 2026, meaning the remaining three seats controlled by Red Bull will be split between Isack Hadjar, Yuki Tsunoda, F2 junior Arvid Lindblad and Lawson.
It means one of the four will not be on the grid in 2026, with Lawson currently 15th in the drivers' championship on 30 points, nine points behind Hadjar and two clear of Tsunoda.
The New Zealander has not scored points since fifth in Azerbaijan, but knows what he must do to save his grand prix racing career.
"It is something that I don't make the decision on," Lawson explained to media, including RacingNews365.
"I will find out when the decision is closer to being made.
"But right now, the task is very simple for all of us.
"It is to perform, so that is just what I am focused on."
