Liam Lawson has described how he has been able to improve his "struggles" in qualifying through the 2025 F1 season.
The New Zealander failed to defeat Max Verstappen at Red Bull in his two sessions, whilst eventually coming out with a 6-16 defeat to Isack Hadjar at Racing Bulls.
Lawson scored the team's best qualifying result of the season with third on the grid for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, but one-lap pace proved to be something he tried to master throughout the season after a tough start.
Reflecting, Lawson was proud of the progress he had made, but felt that a poor qualifying would often ruin the remainder of a weekend, given how close the midfield was in 2025.
"I would say it's definitely been more of a struggle for me," Lawson described to media, including RacingNews365, of his qualifying struggles.
"The car has been very quick, and that's what we've been working on from our side a lot more, trying to extract one lap out of the car, and out of me.
"It's got a lot better through the year, and with how close [qualifying] is, it is just about putting everything together in a whole weekend and trying to execute everything is hard enough.
"That's been the challenge in a season this close, and it's also why when things don't go smoothly, you can lose quite a lot."
