Carlos Sainz has been handed a three-place grid penalty for his home grand prix at the Madring, after being found to have impeded Valtteri Bottas in qualifying.
The Williams driver blocked the Cadillac through Turns 6 and 7 during Q1, from which they were both eliminated, and was due to line up P17 for the Spanish Grand Prix.
However, he has been demoted to P20, which bumps the Finnish driver up a spot to P19.
The official stewards' decision document stated: "The team failed to inform the driver of Car 55 about Car 77 closing in on a flying lap, and the driver did not take any action to make way for the incoming car.
"The Stewards determine that Car 55 unnecessarily impeded Car 77."
