Lewis Hamilton has revealed the immediate impact he feels from the "incredibly special" British Grand Prix support, saying it lifts him "straight away".
This weekend represents Hamilton's 21st home race at Silverstone, the first having come back in 2007 for McLaren.
The event has grown into one of the biggest on the calendar since then, with Hamilton having experienced victory on home soil on nine occasions.
His most recent win at home came in the 2024 British Grand Prix for Mercedes, in what was his penultimate victory for the Silver Arrows.
What amazes the 41-year-old about Silverstone is not only the sheer volume of fans in attendance but also their diversity, all of which adds to his motivation.
A 10th Silverstone win is the goal for the seven-time world champion as he looks to secure his second victory in three rounds, having claimed his first win for Ferrari back in Barcelona.
"Silverstone is always one of the highlights of the season," said Hamilton. "There’s something incredibly special about racing at home, at the track I grew up watching, in front of family, friends, and the fans who have supported me for so many years.
"It’s been amazing to see how the event has grown. It's not just the scale of the crowd now, but the diversity too. You see fans of all ages, and it really feels like a true family event.
"From the moment you leave the garage, you can feel the energy, see the flags, hear the noise; it creates an incredible atmosphere and it lifts you straight away!
"That support means so much, and it absolutely adds to my motivation. The fans have played such a big part in any success I’ve had here over the years."
