Lewis Hamilton struck the mechanic adjusting his front wing during his pit stop during the Belgian Grand Prix, and will be investigated for it after the race at Spa-Francorchamps.
The Ferrari driver had come in to pit under virtual safety car conditions and served his five-second time penalty for causing a collision with George Russell, but made contact with a pit crew member when leaving his box.
"****, is he okay? It went green!" Hamilton exclaimed to engineer Carlo Santi over team radio after his right front tyre hit the mechanic.
"He's okay. We're all okay," he was quickly told in response, but the team and the seven-time F1 drivers' champion could still be punished for an unsafe release.
The incident was quickly noted, with race control soon confirming the stewards would investigate it after the 44-lap race.
The British driver has been summoned to see the officials at 16:45 local time.
