Liam Lawson 'feeling a lot of things' ahead of debut concert at US GP

Liam Lawson has admitted he is "feeling a lot of things" as he prepares to take to the stage at the Circuit of the Americas on Thursday.

The Racing Bulls driver will set up and perform music in front of a crowd in the build-up to the United States Grand Prix this weekend.

Lawson has long shared his passion for music, with clips often shared online of him performing, both recently and when he was growing up.

It will mark the first time in 11 years that Lawson has played in front of a crowd, and he admitted he is feeling nervous about the prospect.

"I am feeling a lot of things," Lawson told media including RacingNews365.

"It's a cool opportunity to do this with my brother and a couple of friends that I've grown up playing with.

"To be honest, we haven't done this for like 10 years.

"We never really performed, but we grew up playing together when we were very young, so it's a cool opportunity.

"But no, I'm shitting myself, for sure.

"I would happily get in an F1 car and go out for Q3 over doing this!"

Lawson explains root of passion for music

Lawson has enjoyed a strong F1 campaign so far as he looks to retain his seat at Racing Bulls for the 2027 season.

While he has forged a career out of racing, Lawson has a deep passion for music, which he revealed comes from his father.

"It's from my dad, my dad plays in a band," he said. "He's played his whole life.

"He got me and my brother into it, and some of my earliest memories are watching him play guitar, watching him play with his bands.

"He performed and played it at his own 40th. It was really, really cool. It's something that has been in my family, that's what got me into it."
