Ferrari has been fined €5,000 by Singapore Grand Prix stewards for failing to follow a tyre technical directive in practice.
The Ferrari driver was summoned by the stewards after being referred to the panel by FIA technical delegate Jo Bauer for a possible breach of a technical directive governing tyre pressure.
During FP3, in which Leclerc was fifth-fastest, Bauer's team found that the tyre pressure on the SF-24 were altered within the pit-stop position - something prohibited by Technical Directive 003.
The stewards found that Ferrari failed to follow TD003N point 2, which states a tyre may not be used more than once in a single session - and related procedures around adjustments to the tyre pressures.
Adjustments to the pressures are allowed, but only if the tyre temperatures are measured in the presence of an FIA official.
As such, the stewards found Ferrari breached Article 30.5A of the sporting regulations which states: "All tyres must be operated in accordance with the prescriptions issued prior to each
Competition by the FIA and the appointed tyre supplier, including any additional or
modified procedures set out in the Appendix to these Sporting Regulations or as
communicated directly by the FIA and the appointed tyre supplier."
Given previous tyre incidents, and the fact that it happened in a practice session, the stewards fined Ferrari €5,000.
