The first red flag of the 2025 Le Mans 24 Hours was triggered just over 75 minutes into first practice, following a crash in the LMGT3 category.
A heavy shunt for the #63 Iron Lynx Mercedes LMGT3 at the second corner caused the red flag, with the front of the car having been very damaged.
The medical car immediately made its way to the stricken Mercedes, before the heavily damaged car was safely removed from the circuit.
Almost 10 minutes of running was lost as a result of the red flag, which took place whilst the #50 Ferrari led the two Toyotas on the overall timesheets.
In LMP2, the #16 RLR M Sport topped the class at the stoppage, ahead of the #14 Inter Europol Competition and #29 TDS Racing car.
In LMGT3, the #78 Akkodis ASP Team Lexus had set the class benchmark, ahead of the #54 Vista AF Corse Ferrari and #27 Heart of Racing Team Aston Martin.
