Lando Norris has expressed confidence he will have more opportunity to fight Max Verstappen for victory in Miami compared to Suzuka last month.

Verstappen triumphed in Japan ahead of Norris and his McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri, as the pair couldn't mount a challenge on the Dutchman.

Verstappen will bid for his second win of the season on Sunday as he starts the Miami Grand Prix from pole position with Norris alongside him on the front row.

When asked if he thinks he can offer a bigger challenge to Verstappen compared to Suzuka, Norris replied: “Yeah, I would say so.

“I mean, the DRS helps a lot around here with the overtaking. It’s what you need.

“You also have some much bigger braking zones than you have in Suzuka, so I hope so anyway. I hope that’s the case and we can have a good race tomorrow.”

However, Norris does not see Verstappen as his sole challenger for victory.

The second row of the grid features championship leader Piastri and rookie Kimi Antonelli, who has shown impressive pace throughout the weekend, peaking with sprint pole position on Friday.

“But I don’t just expect competition from Max,” Norris added.

“Kimi has been quick all weekend and Oscar has been as well. I just expect a tough race from all accounts.”
