Lando Norris has identified what he believes will be the big challenge at the 2027 Monaco Grand Prix, which will be a Sprint race.
As the 2027 calendar was unveiled on Wednesday, it was confirmed that Monaco would be one of 10 Sprint events next season.
The rationale behind this is that it will give the grand prix two qualifying sessions, usually the highlight of the weekend.
Another factor is that heading into Sprint Qualifying, drivers will only have one 60-minute practice session, as opposed to the usual three before the grid is set in the Principality.
This challenge is something that immediately struck 2025 Monaco winner Norris.
"Interesting, interesting," Norris told Sky Sports F1.
"I guess the main thing is that means we've got FP1 and qualifying on Friday, which is the challenge, and obviously, not a lot happens in a race on Sunday, or in the Sprint.
"But I think the challenge is just one practice session and straight in [to qualifying], which I think has probably never happened before in Monaco."

Risk vs reward
Knowing how to balance the risk vs reward in Monaco qualifying is hihglighted as one of the best examples of driver skill, as Norris explained how some are prepared to be "comfy" and not go the extra mile.
"We'll be relying more on data from this year, and obviously, it is tougher for us as drivers," Norris added.
"You don't have much time to build up to things, so you're probably going to have to try and risk a little bit more earlier, which is when you can see a bit more of a difference between people who can get comfy, try things, and be at 99% and not go 103-104%, because in Monaco, when you go to that limit, it's game over."
