Lando Norris delivers clear response over second F1 world title pursuit

Lando Norris has delivered a clear response, stating that he is ready to push for a second consecutive F1 drivers' title and has not had to re-motivate himself after his recent triumph.

Norris overcame a 34-point deficit to secure a maiden championship last season, finishing just two points ahead of Max Verstappen.

The Briton has opted for the #1 for the 2026 season, where he will look to successfully defend his crown as the new power unit regulations are introduced.

For some, finding the motivation to go again can prove difficult, with Nico Rosberg famously retiring immediately after securing his sole title in 2016.

In Norris' case, the 26-year-old is adamant that there has been no need, over the short winter break, to find fresh motivation.

He is eager to keep pushing for more race wins and titles, although he would be in favour of a longer winter break should he manage to defend the #1.

Asked if he has had to reset his mindset over the winter, Norris told select media including RacingNews365: "Honestly, no, like as much as I say that, I don't feel any different coming into this season, I still feel like I just want to go out and win.

"It's just my baseline feeling consistently is that I think it's just more in the end of the day, if I don't achieve something again, I always have something that I'm very proud about, and I know is a huge achievement.

"But it's not, and certainly hasn't taken away any ambition or desire to want to do it again, or to come into this season and to not care about it.

"That's certainly not how I've pictured everything and seen everything. So if anything, I enjoyed last year a lot. And of course, I want to do it again, just hopefully with a longer off-season at the end of this year."
