Lance Stroll has been handed a one-place grid penalty by Monaco Grand Prix stewards after his collision with Charles Leclerc in practice.
Early in the opening session in the Principality, Stroll moved off line to the left at the hairpin to allow Kimi Antonelli through, and then moved to the right to make it around the left-hander.
However, he was then rammed by Leclerc, who could not avoid the Canadian, with the red flags briefly deployed for debris.
In their verdict, the stewards found that Stroll was "wholly to blame for the collision" and that Leclerc was unable to avoid the collision.
He was also hit with one penalty point on his super-licence, bringing him to three for the 12-month period.
Leclerc returned to the track to top the session with the fastest time whilst Stroll did not return, with rear suspension damage and a gearbox change. He finished 20th.
