Kimi Antonelli suffered a major setback in his bid for the F1 title, suffering a Mercedes failure moments after passing George Russell in Barcelona.
Fighting over second and third behind runaway leader Lewis Hamilton, Antonelli slowed coming out of Turn 6, and pulled over, losing his 18 points for second place.
It meant Russell was promoted into second place, meaning he cut Antonelli's lead to 50 points, when it was set to be 71 with Antonelli in second.
Lando Norris was promoted into third place for McLaren - and will mark the first all British F1 podium since the 1968 US Grand Prix, with Jackie Stewart, Graham Hill, and John Surtees.
Charles Leclerc also retired late on with a power steering failiure.
