Isack Hadjar has revealed the one condition he would be open to joining Red Bull this season, rather than wait to make the switch in 2026.
The Racing Bulls driver has been heavily speculated with a promotion to Red Bull for the start of the new power unit regulations, following a tremendous rookie campaign.
Red Bull motorsport advisor Helmut Marko has informed media that a decision on the two driver pairings will be made after next weekend's Mexican GP. Hadjar has featured consistently in Q3 and in the points, while he also secured a maiden podium at the Dutch GP.
His fine results has led to much debate over whether he could swap seats with Yuki Tsunoda before the season concludes, something the French-Algerian has previously been against.
For much of the campaign, Hadjar has insisted that he wants to finish the year with the sister Red Bull team; however, he revealed ahead of this weekend's United States Grand Prix that he would be open to the switch this year but under one condition.
According to Hadjar, he would be open to moving to Red Bull for the final rounds of this season if he were already confirmed as Max Verstappen's team-mate for 2026.
Asked if he would be open to racing for Red Bull for the final three rounds if already guaranteed a seat with it for 2026, Hadjar told select media including RacingNews365: "Yeah, definitely.
"I don't know, but if it's 100% sure that I'll get the opportunity [to race for Red Bull next season and announced] in advance, then yes.
"But at the same time, it's a completely new car next year. So it's also pointless, in a way."
Addressing that it would give him a chance to gel with Red Bull and its engineers, Hadjar added: "It definitely helps, I didn't think about this to be honest."

Hadjar's Red Bull dream
While being Verstappen's team-mate is a position which has seen many drivers crumble, Hadjar has on several occasions outlined his eagerness to discover what it is like.
Racing for Red Bull is something the 21-year-old has always wanted from his motorsport career, with his desire for a promotion having been outlined to the Austrian company.
Answering if he has told Red Bull who he wants to drive for next season, Hadjar replied: "Yes, obviously."
He continued: "I've always wanted to [race for Red Bull] since I joined the Red Bull programme, [the goal] was always to be a Red Bull driver."
