The F1 title fight has come down to the final round of the season, with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix set to decide the winner.
Max Verstappen, once thought by many not to be a contender in the title fight, has ensured he stays in contention for the race at the Yas Marina Circuit and is firmly in the hunt following a stunning victory in Lusail with Oscar Piastri second and Lando Norris only fourth.
It means heading to Abu Dhabi, the points situation is this.
- Norris - 408
- Verstappen - 396
- Piastri - 392
It means Verstappen must out-score Norris by 13 points to be assured of the title, with victory for the Dutchman in Abu Dhabi meaning Norris must finish at least third to prevent a fifth straight crown for the Dutchman.
Verstappen requires at least a podium, as if he finishes fourth, worth 12 points, Norris would be ahead on second-place countback - eight vs five - with both being tied on seven wins
Below, are the full permutations for how Max Verstappen can win the 2025 F1 title in Abu Dhabi.
