Christian Horner has said that Sergio Perez has delivered what the team has been missing for several seasons as the Mexican picked up the pieces from a late red flag to take the win at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Perez was able to ensure that a Red Bull car was on the top step of the podium in Baku after his teammate Max Verstappen crashed out of the race with 5 laps to go with a puncture to his left rear tyre Red Bull have been searching for a reliable second driver to support Verstappen for several seasons, and Horner said Perez's ability to compete at the front added a whole new dimension to the team's approach. "It's great to have both cars up there obviously and it's an added string to our bow when you lose your lead car that Checo is right there to deliver the win, and that is exactly what we have been looking for," Horner told RacingNews365.com and other select media. "So I'm delighted for him, pleased for the team for the amount of effort that's been going on behind the scenes, and, you know, for all our partners that are working incredibly hard. "I think it's just everybody doing their bit and Checo being part of that."
