Often during test days, it's said that lap times are not important while the lap count is a more crucial area to focus on.

While Max Verstappen and Red Bull blitzed to the top of the timesheets on the opening day of testing in Bahrain, Haas can be pleased with its level of productivity.

Except for some minor problems with the fuel system, Haas can reflect on a flawless first day in terms of reliability. With 66 laps for Kevin Magnussen in the morning and a whopping 82 for Nico Hulkenberg in the afternoon, the total for the day comes to 148 laps.

The figure makes it the most productive team of the day - Max Verstappen and Red Bull come close with 143 laps completed, followed by a close group consisting of Ferrari, Aston Martin, Stake and McLaren, who completed in and around 130 laps.

Williams was by far the weakest link of the first day with just 61 laps on the board. Both Alex Albon (fuel system) and Logan Sargeant (broken driveshaft) were hampered during the first day of testing.
