McLaren CEO Zak Brown has revealed the team's "greedy" goal for the 2025 F1 season is to win both the drivers' and constructors' championship.

Last year, the Woking-based team secured its first constructors' title since 1998, courtesy of Lando Norris finding form in the closing rounds.

Oscar Piastri showed sublime pace at times but struggled to string together consistent results in the latter stages of 2024.

Defending its constructors' crown would be a huge achievement for the British outfit, although both Norris and Piastri are targeting a maiden drivers' title.

The last time a McLaren driver won the drivers' championship was Lewis Hamilton in 2007, with Brown hopeful Norris or Piastri can get the job done.

However, not only has Brown set McLaren the task of winning both championships, he would also like Norris and Piastri to finish one-two in the standings.

"It's definitely the goal, we'd like to go for the constructors' and drivers' world championship," Brown told select media including RacingNews365

"And why not be greedy and have that be one-two, and let Lando and Oscar decide who's one and who's two. So that's our collective goal."

The big difficulty standing in McLaren's way, though, is that the upcoming season is expected to be one of the most competitive in F1 history.

Brown is also under the impression that the competition will be very high in 2025, and has predicted that eight different drivers will claim a race win.

"I think, as the drivers said, this season should be epic and even closer than last year," added Brown. "So I'm anticipating eight different winners. I think last year we had seven, four different teams won, I wouldn't be surprised with how competitive it is.

"Every weekend last year, whilst the top four teams were always at the front, there always seemed to be someone that was able to kind of disrupt.

"So I expect that to be happening again. So I wouldn't be surprised if there was more than four teams that won. I think we're in store for an epic F1 season."
