Oscar Piastri will lead the F1 field to green for the first time after securing his first-ever pole position at the Chinese Grand Prix.
The Australian became the 107th driver to set a world championship pole position with the first for the country since Daniel Ricciardo at the 2018 Mexican Grand Prix with two laps good enough for pole.
He pipped George Russell to P1 with Lando Norris third, Max Verstappen fourth and Sprint winner Lewis Hamilton in fifth for Ferrari.
After qualifying at the back of the field, Liam Lawson had set up changes carried out on his car overnight, meaning he has shifted to the pit lane. The New Zealander was due to start from 20th.
