Former F1 driver Antonio Pizzonia was arrested last weekend for an alleged assault in the USA, according to a report.
45-year-old Pizzonia competed in various categories throughout his racing career, which included a stint in F1 from 2003 to 2005.
Pizzonia entered the 2003 campaign with Jaguar alongside Mark Webber before being replaced by Justin Wilson for the final five rounds of the season.
The Brazilian returned to the cockpit one year later for Williams, stepping up in place of Marc Gene, who failed to impress the team as he substituted for an injured Ralf Schumacher.
In four races, Pizzonia scored three seventh-place finishes before returning to the sidelines after Schumacher recovered.
Pizzonia missed out on a seat for the following season as Nick Heidfeld was given the drive at Williams, however late-season injuries for the German saw Pizzonia called up once again for the final rounds of the campaign.
Pizzonia has continued to race in other categories since his F1 exit, but TMZ has now reported that he was arrested and booked in a Texas jail last weekend for an assault charge.
Further details are unknown at this time, however it has reported that on the day he was arrested, Pizzonia was at the Speedsportz Racing Park for the 2026 Superkarts USA Winter Series on Saturday to support his son, who was competing.
