Ferrari boss Fred Vasseur believes the "biggest challenge" of the 2026 F1 rules reset will be ensuring full integration between all the systems, including the drivers.
Both Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc got their first taste of the SF-26 on Friday in a shakedown at Fiorano, with the car set to run for the first time during the private Barcelona test on Tuesday, 27th January.
Given the scale of the changes to both the chassis and the power units, Vasseur believes getting all the systems working effectively and efficiently is the overriding challenge facing teams as testing looms.
"I think the key to performance will be a good integration between the chassis [and the power unit] and for sure, development will be key," Vasseur told media, including RacingNews365.
"Performance in every single area will be key, but at the end of the day, the biggest challenge will be the integration of all the systems together, including the drivers.
"Hopefully, it will be a full reset for them on their approach, which means they will have to completely change the way they have to approach to develop through the weekend, and the way of driving will even be a bit different.
"It will be a challenge, and part of our job is to give them good tools to be at their maximum, and it is true that we are all starting from scratch; we are all discovering the challenges.
"It is a good feeling because it is our job, our DNA, to challenge this kind of situation, and the drivers are part of the equation. I think it is a very interesting challenge for us and the others."
