Charles Leclerc was forced into retirement on lap six of the São Paulo Grand Prix, adding to Ferrari's nightmare start to the race at Interlagos.
Lewis Hamilton, who had started 13th but dropped to 18th after a Turn 1 bump with Williams' Carlos Sainz, required a new front wing after clipping the back of Alpine's Franco Colapinto at the end of the opening lap.
At that stage, a safety car had been summoned after Gabriel Bortoleto had crashed out midway through the opening lap.
At the restart, at the beginning of lap six, McLaren's Oscar Piastri locked up in Turn 1 as he attacked Kimi Antonelli in his Mercedes, leading to a collision between the duo.
The shunt sent Antonelli into Leclerc on his outside into the left-hander, with the rear of the W16 hitting the front-left of the SF-25, dislodging the tyre and breaking the wishbone, sending the Monégasque into immediate retirement.
