Kimi Antonelli is already enjoying his winter break, taking to a Milton Keynes-based Karting track under a pseudonym and using a cap to conceal his identity further.
The Mercedes driver attended Daytona Motorsport — based near Silverstone, the home of the British Grand Prix — and raced under the name 'Henry Shovlin', in a nod to the eight-time F1 constructors' champion's trackside engineering director, Andrew Shovlin.
After going three seconds faster than anyone else on circuit in wet conditions, when helmets came off post-race, it soon became apparent who the other unsuspecting guests had been competing against.
The three-time podium finisher also set a time over five seconds quicker than Alex Albon had managed at the same venue, in an impressive display.
Heading into this second season in F1, eyes will be on the 19-year-old to see how well he adapts to the new regulations and if he can continue closing the performance gap to George Russell.
Nonetheless, Antonelli appears to be putting his free time over the offseason to good use, having fun and keeping his skills sharp, even in the run-up to the holiday season.
