The FIA have officially announced that Pirelli's new rear tyres will be introduced once the F1 season resumes at the British Grand Prix in a week's time.

The news comes after Max Verstappen and Lance Stroll suffered major blowouts in Azerbaijan. In response, Pirelli announced they were working on a new rear tyre that was tested during the race weekend in Austria that was met with approval by drivers and teams.

"The World Council has approved the introduction of a new rear tyre construction for the remainder of the 2021 season," read an FIA statement.
