F1 will use new Pirelli rear tyres for British GP onwards

In what was simply a formality, Pirelli's new rear tyres will be introduced at Silverstone and used for the remainder of the season.

The FIA have officially announced that Pirelli's new rear tyres will be introduced once the F1 season resumes at the British Grand Prix in a week's time. The news comes after Max Verstappen and Lance Stroll suffered major blowouts in Azerbaijan. In response, Pirelli announced they were working on a new rear tyre that was tested during the race weekend in Austria that was met with approval by drivers and teams. "The World Council has approved the introduction of a new rear tyre construction for the remainder of the 2021 season," read an FIA statement.
