Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc were the biggest losers on the 2025 F1 grid in terms of points scored against their 2024 results.
In 2024, the then Ferrari team-mates scored 290 and 356 points, respectively, as they fell narrowly short of beating McLaren to the constructors' championship.
But 2025 proved to be a tricky story for both drivers.
Sainz departed the Scuderia after Lewis Hamilton joined, moving to Williams, and having a slow start to his season alongside Alex Albon.
However, Sainz rallied in the second half of the season, with two podiums, but still only banked 63 points, his lowest tally since 53 for Renault in 2018. This marked a loss of 226 points for the Spanish racer year-on-year.
As for Leclerc, he went winless for Ferrari and hauled 242 points, a drop of 114 from his 2024 score, in which he claimed three grand prix wins.
The biggest winner overall was Oscar Piastri, who earned 118 more points this season compared to last with seven grand prix wins in total, which is five more than he scored last term, worth in itself seven more points (125) than the 118 he improved by.
As for the rookie drivers and those who had a part-season in either 2024 or 2025, it was Kimi Antonelli who performed the best, finishing seventh in the championship with 150 points and three podiums.
