Pierre Gasly has signed a new long-term Alpine contract, committing him to the team until 2028.
Gasly joined Alpine from what was then AlphaTauri for the 2023 season, and became team leader this season after the departure of Esteban Ocon to Haas.
The Frenchman has provided stability for the team after several key management departures since joining, with executive advisor Flavio Briatore being joined for the first time trackside at the Italian Grand Prix by Steve Nielsen as racing director.
The one-time grand prix winner has scored all of Alpine's 20 points this season, as Jack Doohan and Franco Colapinto have struggled in the second car, with the team building towards 2026 when major changes are coming to the Enstone squad.
Alpine is to revert to customer engine status for F1's 2026 rules overhaul with a Mercedes power unit replacing the works Renault one the team currently uses, with Gasly claiming earlier in the year that, given the scale of the changes coming, he could be world champion in 2026.
Since joining Alpine, Gasly has taken two podium finishes, third places at the 2023 Dutch and 2024 Sao Paulo Grands Prix, along with a third at the 2024 Belgian GP Sprint race.
He has a best finish of sixth thus far in 2025, coming at the British GP.

Gasly's "immense" attitude
"I'm thrilled to commit my long-term future to Alpine," Gasly explained.
"As a Frenchman, especially driving for a French car company, it makes me feel very proud. Since I joined in 2023, I have always felt that this team is the right place to be for the future.
"Flavio's [Briatore] support and belief in me, François' [Provost] commitment to the Formula 1 project, as well as the people we have in Enstone, made this a natural decision, and I want to be here in years to come and deliver on our joint objective: to win races and world championships.
"We're all in this together, and I look forward to continuing this special story."
In his comments, Briatore added that Gasly's "immense" attitude was key for the team after the turbulent period.
"Since I returned to the team, I have always stated how important it is to build and grow the competitiveness of Alpine Formula 1 Team," he said.
"We're well prepared for the new era of Formula 1, beginning in 2026, and now we have our lead driver confirmed to bring us well into the future.
"Pierre has been an immense asset for the team during this challenging period. I have been very impressed with his attitude, dedication and talent, and we look forward to continuing this project together for a long time."
