In a shock announcement, Ferrari has confirmed that Lewis Hamilton's race engineer will no longer be Riccardo Adami.
Ferrari announced on Friday evening that Adami has moved to a new role within the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy, with him to become the Academy and TPC test (Testing of Previous Cars) manager.
The Maranello-based outfit are set to announce Adami's replacement in due course, ahead of a critical season for both Hamilton and Ferrari.
Communication was a clear issue between the seven-time world champion and Adami across the 2025 season, with disagreements often heard on the radio.
For Hamilton, 2026 could be his final season in F1 and is viewed by many as his best chance to return to winning ways and battle for an unprecedented eighth drivers' title.
Addressing Adami's change in role, a Ferrari statement read: "Scuderia Ferrari HP announces that Riccardo Adami has moved to a new role within the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy as Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy and Test Previous Cars Manager, where his extensive trackside experience and Formula 1 expertise contributes to the development of future talent and to strengthening performance culture across the programme.
"Scuderia Ferrari HP would like to thank Riccardo for his commitment and contribution to his trackside role and wishes him every success in his new position. The appointment of the new Race Engineer for car #44 will be announced in due course."
