Bottas outlines what will be the most noticable in 2022 F1 cars at Suzuka

It is the first time the Japanese Grand Prix has been ran at the circuit since 2019, after the race was cancelled the last two years due to Covid restrictions.

Valtteri Bottas has outlined what he thinks will be one of the most noticeable things in the 2022 Formula 1 cars for the drivers around the Suzuka circuit. It will be the first time the Japanese Grand Prix has been ran since 2019, after the last two additions were cancelled due to Covid restrictions. With the cars now much heavier and sporting 18-inch wheels, Bottas believes the weight will be one of the most significant things the drivers feel through the high speed corners at the track. "I think there's not going to be a huge difference [compared to 2019 cars], but for sure you will feel the weight in high speed corners," Bottas told media, including RacingNews365 .

Would the Russia/Singapore/Japan triple header have been difficult?

Bottas says the drivers couldn't mentally rest due to the wet and changeable conditions in Singapore, which demanded a lot from them. He explained: "It was tough because it was so long. And the conditions were like, you just getting even mentally rest at all. "There was still damp patches when we were driving with a slicks, it's really not that easy." The Japanese GP was originally set to be the end of another triple-header, as the race in Russia was slated to take place at the end of September before it was cancelled due to ongoing war in Ukraine. Given that Singapore is one of the toughest circuits on the calendar and Suzuka features fast, flowing corners with barriers that are also close to the track, drivers were expected to experience high fatigue levels with these races back-to-back. When asked if he could imagine the Russia/Singapore/Japan triple header taking place, Bottas replied: "I can. With adrenaline you can do whatever [you want]. But afterwards, you will be tired."
